The Hidden Shape of Reality

What Exactly is Reality? What Exactly Determines True Existence? Is there Something We Could Consider Real and Something Else We Could Consider Imaginary?

About my Work
My Research Path

ACT I – BLACK PAINTINGS

The artist started painting in 2006 and after about one year, he decided to stop in order to study the processes of interaction between colours: two enamels poured on an even support tend to blend autonomously. He realised that through this phenomenon – which he defined as “blending” – it was possible to depersonalise the product of the creative act and reach concepts that transcend the actual reality.

ACT II – SECONDA FORMA

By employing a transparent material called “methacrylate”, the artist noticed that the colours blended on one side of the support. On its other side, instead, the first moment of the pictorial gesture remained imprinted, revealing the mark left by the colour before the process of depersonalisation.

Hence, he decided to mould the painted support so that the two moments of metamorphosis could be shown and made available to the public. The artist published his first writings in a small and self released catalogue in 2009, called “Il Sé Transpersonale” (literally “The Transpersonal Self”).

In 2011, he approached Il Metaformismo, by professor Giulia Sillato. She led him to show his work in several prestigious exhibitions held in different places, such as Chiostro del Bramante and Apostolic Chancery Palace in Rome, Giureconsulti Palace in Milan, Gran Guardia Palace in Verona, all combined with important publications edited by Mazzotta and Mondadori. During the same year, the sculptor wrote another text in the volume “Il Metaformismo”, published by Mondadori.

In 2014, after examining in depth the critical survey on Metaforma for years, the artist published his own programmatic formulation about Seconda Forma (literally “Second Form”). In short, the artist declared that it is necessary to face a first phase of depersonalisation of the creative moment through a painting act in order to describe all the concepts related to the incorporeal. Then, there is a second phase of sculptural process, during which the creation is brought back to a corporeal level and becomes available to the observer. Therefore, in 2016 he published his Monography, edited by Mondadori, named “La Seconda Forma”.

ACT III – NON FORMA

Just before the Pandemic period, the artist research had a breakthrough: he decides to totally give up the use of colours in favour of an extreme synthesis, expressed with the use of black sheets. His research begins to focus mainly on the denial of the Actual Reality,  getting to the theory of Non Forma (literally “Not Form”).

ACT IV – DISSOLUTION

Therefore, in 2021 he started to find a strong interest for the digital world as a way to totally dematerialise his artworks. This path can be considered a logical consequence of his artistic research.
